Slayer Tycoon Controls
Every combat input Coldjason lists on the Roblox page, plus what v2.0 changed.
The official Roblox description for Slayer Tycoon is mostly a control card. That is not flavor text — the combat tycoon is unplayable if you mix up roll and sprint. This page is the full input map for PC, Xbox, and mobile, then the v2.0 HUD details that older YouTube videos skip.
Learn these before you enter the mines or take a boss. A missed roll is how farmers drop Nichirin ore for griefers. Pair this page with getting started and PvP.
PC keyboard
| Action | Input |
|---|---|
| Move | WASD or arrow keys |
| Jump | Space |
| Roll | Q while standing |
| Sprint | Q while moving |
| Skills 1–5 | E, R, T, Y, U |
| Basic attack | Left mouse (M1) |
| Unequip / sheath | Use the weapon slot again (v2.0 plays a sheath animation) |
The Q split is the one players fail. Standing Q is an i-frame roll with its own cooldown. Moving Q starts a sprint that, after v2.0, lasts until you stop running. Roll and sprint no longer share one cooldown. If you mash Q while strafing into a Shockwave Demon combo, you will sprint into the punch instead of rolling through it.
Skill keys map onto the kit you have equipped — a breathing katana, a Blood Demon Art, or a fighting style. Empty slots do nothing. v2.0 color-codes the five cooldown bars so you can see which form is ready without counting.
Xbox
| Action | Button |
|---|---|
| Roll | Y |
| Skills | D-pad |
| Move / camera | Sticks (standard Roblox) |
Coldjason’s description calls out Y and the D-pad specifically. Everything else uses default Roblox gamepad mapping. If a skill does not fire, you are on the wrong D-pad direction or the cooldown bar is still empty — not a broken controller.
Mobile
Mobile gets on-screen buttons for roll and skills. Landscape mode is strongly preferred; the v2.0 HUD is large. Community notes say some Solo Player Style skills (especially Ruler’s Hand) are awkward to aim on a thumb. If you plan to main Solo Style, a mouse is kinder.
There is no separate “codes” button to hunt on mobile. See the codes hub.
v2.0 HUD extras
- Pickup prompts when you grab wood, ore, bags, or souls.
- Damage indicators that can be toggled off if the numbers clutter PvP.
- Color-coded skill CDs for slots 1–5.
- Sheath when you unequip a katana.
- Infinite sprint until you stop, with roll on a separate timer.
These changes make older “hold Q to dash” videos slightly wrong. Trust this page and the v2.0 notes over a 2021 showcase for movement tech.
Combat habits that matter more than the keybinds
- Roll first, skill second against bosses. Shockwave Demon copies Akaza’s kit; eating Destroy Type because you sprinted is a wipe.
- Do not sprint in the money-plate room if a raider is nearby — you want the roll available.
- M1 is not optional. Most kits deal 5 damage per hit on the basic string. Skills win trades; M1 wins the downtime. Rankings on the breathing and demon art pages assume you still click.
- Food is a control. Udon (about $500 on a Demon base) and bento (about $600 near the train) are inputs as much as E is. The boss guide still recommends stacking udon for ranged kiting.
- Sun Tools (250 R$ gamepass) one-shot trees and ore. That is a gathering bind, not a combat bind, but it changes how long you hold the hatchet mouse button.
Style and art stances
Some kits change your idle. Love Breathing uses a unique hold pose. Shockwave Art puts you in a martial stance and can fire a compass knockback when equipped. Moon Art is a flesh-katana with a long sheath. None of that remaps E–U; it only changes what those keys do. Read the kit page on the tier list before you blame the keyboard.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What does Q do in Slayer Tycoon?
Standing Q rolls. Moving Q sprints. In v2.0 those cooldowns are separate and sprint lasts until you stop.
How do I use breathing skills?
Press E, R, T, Y, and U on PC, or the D-pad on Xbox. Mobile uses on-screen skill buttons.
Why is my roll not working while I run?
You are triggering sprint. Stop moving, then tap Q for the roll, or pause briefly so the roll input can win.
Are mobile controls complete?
Yes for movement and skills, but some aimed style moves feel worse on a thumb. See fighting styles.
