Slayer Tycoon Breathing Styles Tier List

Breathing styles are the Slayer half of Slayer Tycoon. You buy the Katana Sensei in the tycoon for $5,000, then pay cash plus one wood and one ore for a nichirin. Demons cannot shop here — they use demon arts. This list ranks session value: how fast the katana starts winning boss tags and PvP peels after a reset.

Prices below prefer the English Sensei page when it agrees with namu, and call out fights when it does not. Confirm in-game. Full cash sheet: tools.

S tier

Mist Breathing — about $54k–$60k. Silent Fog (Y) is documented as full invulnerability plus a random mist teleport when you would have taken damage. E Cloud Flow and the air T give enough offense that you are not a statue. Best “I refuse to die with ore” katana.

Sound Breathing — about $70k. Rating videos give it huge defense (invuln, knockback, AoE) and call it a boss farmer. v2.0 lets Orchestra Performance control movement. Pricey, but it plays like a demon art on a Slayer pad.

Fire God / Sun — 350 R$ + about $70k–$100k. Still the damage screenshot. Movement and range are excellent. It is S if the pass is already owned. It is not S as a first Robux buy if you still lack Sun Tools and Awaken.

A tier

Love Breathing — $75k. Mitsuri kit: winding slashes, ranged R, stun-ish T. High skill ceiling, great if you can aim. No pass.

Thunder Breathing — about $58k (some old lists $38k). Speed kit, revamped in v2.0, still a clean mid-price A. Dark Thunder is a demon art, not this katana.

Water Breathing — $50k–$60k. v2.0 revamp. Versatile. Can awaken into Water Katana: Flow at The Master (awakening).

Water: Calm Waters — $50k. Dead Calm is a combo starter in older ratings. Also awakens to Flow. Pick one Water, not both, in a short session.

Wind Breathing — about $70k. Namu rates it highly; English Sensei stub historically omitted it. Treat as A if the prompt is in your server.

B tier

Flame Breathing — $45k or $81k (conflict). v1.7 rework. Offense is real; the price gap makes it a bad “blind buy.” If your Sensei says $45k, it is a B+ opener. If it says $81k, skip toward Thunder or Mist.

Insect Breathing — $25k. Best first katana, not the best katana. v2.0 Centipede and 100 Step Zigzag keep it relevant. Sensei page vs Insect page price mismatch — $25k is the consensus.

Beast Breathing — $32k. Wild dashes, good PvE, weak PvP. Boar Head accessory adds 10% skill damage.

C tier

Serpent / Snake — $56k. Playable, usually outclassed by Thunder at a similar tag.

Basic Katana — $5k. Better than a thrown hatchet, not a plan. Buy it only if you need a three-skill stick before Insect cash lands.

D tier

None of the named Hashira katanas are truly useless. D is reserved for buying a second fashion blade while your partner still lacks a Sensei. Fashion is what accessories are for — those save.

Suggested buy lines

• Broke Slayer: Insect → Thunder or Water → Mist/Sound.
• Duo with a Shockwave Demon: You peel (Mist/Sound); they farm bosses.
• Pass owner: Fire God whenever the cash hits, then spend souls on Flow if you also own Awaken.

Move lists (E/R/T/Y/U) change with revamps. Use the mid-article showcase for silhouettes, then test CDs on the color-coded v2.0 bars. Controls if you are still sprinting into M1s.

Compare with fighting styles if the waterfall is closer than a $70k katana, and with factions if you picked Demon by accident.
